The Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology (Prof. Ulrich Trautwein), the Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (Prof. Peter Gerjets) and the Perception Engineering Group (Jun.-Prof. Enkelejda Kasneci) at the Computer Science Department of Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, one of eleven German universities distinguished as excellent under the German government’s initiative, is currently inviting applications for a

PhD position in Computer Science (E13 TV-L)

starting as soon as possible limited until June 30, 2020.

 

The collaborating researchers are working on the assessment of the students’ focus of attention based on eye movements and automated video data analysis in teacher-led classroom scenarios.

 

Candidates should have a M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related disciplines, strong background in machine learning and computer vision and excellent programming skills. Experience in the field of eye-tracking is desirable.
