PhD position in Plant Cell Physiology

We are looking for a talented

PhD student in Plant Cell Physiology

with a background in cell and molecular biology or biochemistry. The prospective candidate is required to have a master’s degree in Biology or Biochemistry, should be fluent in English, highly motivated, intellectually independent, experimentally accurate, with good management skills, and able to conduct research independently after initial training.

 

We offer a stimulating working environment and excellent scientific infrastructure. Our lab studies SNARE proteins with a special interest in their membrane insertion during protein biogenesis. We recently described the GET (Guided Entry of Tail-anchored (TA) Proteins) pathway in Arabidopsis and found that its loss partially prevents a root hair specific SNARE to localise to the plasma membrane (further reading: Xing et al. 2017, PNAS).

 

This is a grant-funded position (SFB1101-A06 see link below for further details) which will begin as soon as possible. Reviewing of applications will begin immediately and the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
